How to install

Between the power point and your pump.

TED plugs into the power point. Your pump, or your chlorinator, plugs into TED. Connect it to your home wifi, and the app can switch the pump on and off and manage its schedule.

With a chlorinator

Plug the chlorinator into TED, then set its own timer to manual or always on. TED manages the schedule from there.

Without a chlorinator

Plug the pump into TED, then remove the old pool timer or leave it set to always on, so the two schedules don't clash.

Then connect to wifi

Follow the instructions in the TED app to connect TED to your home wifi. Setup and wifi help

TED is made for indoor use. Equipment outside needs a weatherproof plug enclosure.

After year one, TED AI is $80 a year, including test strip refills. Renew to keep TED suggesting your runtime as the weather and your power prices change, and prompting you when it's time to test. If you don't, your smart plug and app still handle pump control and chemistry calculations. You approve every change TED suggests.

What are the specs?

Input 110 to 240 V. Maximum load 15 A, which covers standard pool pumps. Connects over 2.4 GHz wifi. Operating temperature minus 20°C to 50°C. Made for indoor use, or outdoors inside a weatherproof enclosure.

Do I need an electrician?

No. TED is a self‑install smart plug. Most people have it set up in about 10 minutes.

Does it work with multi‑speed pumps?

Yes. TED works with single‑speed and multi‑speed pumps, in salt, mineral and chlorine pools.

Which phones does the app work on?

The TED app is on iPhone and Android. There’s no desktop version.
